What a pairing! Anna Moffo and Nicolai Gedda together in roles that seem custom fitted for them. Moffo starts out with all the requisite charm and grace. Her Gavotte is nothing short than mesmerizing. During the course of the evening her characterization reveals the frailty, both mental and physical, of the character. Nicolai Gedda sings his part flawlessly. He is both ardent and aristocratic. The sound is decent but is occasionally marred by audience commentary.
